Meet The Team

Dr. Scott Barrix

D.D.S.

Graduating from the IU School of Dentistry in 1988, Scott set up shop in his home town of Columbus, and has been here serving the community ever since. With 35 years of experience under his belt, Scott is committed to providing the best service Columbus has to offer. Scott is also a part time faculty member at the SPEAR institute in Scottsdale, AZ where he teaches CEREC digital dentistry, and implant restorative dentistry.

Dr. Bria Scott

In Memoriam

After graduating from Purdue and transferring to Indiana University School of Dentistry, Dr. Bria Scott partnered with Dr. Scott Barrix at Renaissance Dental Group in 2017. She served her patients and staff faithfully for 8 years.

In July 2025, Dr. Scott passed away doing what she loved, serving others on a medical mission. She will forever be a part of the Renaissance Dental Family.

Sara

Dental Hygienist

Born and raised in Greensburg, where she still lives, Sara attended IU School of Dentistry to pursue becoming a dental hygienist. Graduating in 2013 from IU and spends her time dedicated to her craft as she enjoys taking courses outside the office to remain the expert on dental hygiene.

Christie

Dental Hygienist

As a licensed hygienist with a history of working with Dr. Barrix since 2003, Christie is our most experienced hygienist. There is little she hasn't seen and even less she doesn't know. Christie prides herself on excellent work and making personal connections with all her patients.

Alyssa

EFDA

Beginning her dental education in high school, Alyssa attended the C4 vocational school for dental assisting in Columbus. Alyssa began to further her dental education post high school at the international business college, where she graduated with honors and an associates in Expanded Functions Dental Assisting. As well as being named student of the term and winning the presidents list. Alyssa is also certified in coronal polishing and fluoride application.

Mara

EFDA

I began my dental education in high school, attended C4 classes. I graduated from ivy tech on 2010 as a Dental assistant. I earned my EFDA certificate in 2019. I am also certified in coronal polishing and I am fluent in Spanish.

Mandi

Office Manager

Mandi is the mom to two adult sons and resides in Columbus with her two dogs. She has 24 years total of front office experience in the dental field. She loves helping people get the most out of their appointments and dental benefits.

Dana

In Memoriam

Dana faithfully served our patients and our dental team for over 22 years. She has been working with Dr. Barrix since 2003. Her hard work and dedication to our dental family will forever be appreciated, and remembered.

Jessie

EFDA

Jessie graduated as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant in 2016. Jessie is certified in coronal polishing, and fluoride application, as well. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her English bulldog, Bowser. She also enjoys watching football, and staying in shape at the gym.

Gabby Olivia Hernandez

Dental Assistant

Gabby is from Venezuela, and was trained in the healthcare system. She loved spending time with family and doing outdoor activities. She is very detail oriented, which fits the dental profession perfectly. The variety of patients and cases keep her focused on giving patients a health smile each day!
